The present-day U.S. military qualifies by any measure as highly professional, much more so than its Cold War predecessor. Yet the purpose of today’s professionals is not to preserve peace but to fight unending wars in distant places. Intoxicated by a post-Cold War belief in its own omnipotence, the United States allowed itself to be drawn into a long series of armed conflicts, almost all of them yielding unintended consequences and imposing greater than anticipated costs. Since the end of the Cold War, U.S. forces have destroyed many targets and killed many people. Only rarely, however, have they succeeded in accomplishing their assigned political purposes. . . . [F]rom our present vantage point, it becomes apparent that the “Revolution of ‘89” did not initiate a new era of history. At most, the events of that year fostered various unhelpful illusions that impeded our capacity to recognize and respond to the forces of change that actually matter.

France has taken 150 Iraqi Christians who were injured in the bombing in October. They will be given free medical care and allowed to stay in France.

Sure glad there are some countries out there who are will to try to help and to pick up the pieces from America's wars of aggression.

And you can bet your very last dollar that the blood-sucking war-mongering Americans never contributed a cent to help the Iraqi victims of our illegal war of aggression either.

meanwhile, the war criminal bush claims his worst moment in the presidency was when someone made the claim that "bush don't care about black people"...... not the hundreds of thousands of dead people, or the millions of lives ruined, because he is a sociopath that loves blood and war and pain (for other people, of course). No, what he is concerned about is getting his own itty bitty feelings hurt.

piece of shit.....
